Project Title : Final Major Project
Section 1 : Review
Throughout the first seven units of this course, as a performer I feel I have grown remarkably in this course. I have learnt skills such valuable lessons from practitioners and playwrights such as Uta Hagen and Stanislavski, which has made a massive improvement on my acting and work in class. My understanding of the whole context has been expanded, skills they use, I tend to see them in the way I act on stage and the rehearsal room. Each individual technique has helped me so much to become my own type of actor and to be more real with myself and the kind of acting style I want to proceed in life. This course has enhanced my skills, knowledge and understanding in many areas of drama. Working with different companies such has "Broken Youth Theatre" and "Camden Youth Theatre" really open my eyes and has allowed me to deepen my skills and use different techniques to help me understand why I am doing things and what they help me to improve. Talking with professionals makes everything clearer and it gives me a insight into the acting world and what we should be prepared for which made me develop how actors should behave. One thing that struck a cord was that when you are receiving constructive criticism from your fellow peers you need to be receptive and open.
I learnt as an actor you must be very resilient and there is no space for people who can't keep pushing. This changed my perspective on how to go about certain situations and how to fully pursue my acting career without any surprises. This year in level 3 Acting we have finally performed 4 various productions, all testing me in many ways but the end result being successful, thanks to advice given from my teachers. While reflecting I realised that throughout all productions, using all my new skills continuously throughout all plays. I hope that the career path I wanna pursue in the near future will be in the acting world either in theatre and film or writing.
Section 2 : Project Concept
This current term the production we are working on is entitled love and information by Caryl Churchill. The play focuses on 7 different sections in the whole play, all being with 100 contrasting characters across 58 thematically linked scenes. Mostly focusing on the themes of information, identity, memory and love.
Throughout the play the characters are always in first person regardless of the section put in. Since the play is based on love and information, affairs are one of the problems that occur in everyday life. This production bring us all together as we had included an ensemble to create a sense of togetherness and community in not only my whole group but in the play itself. When doing research on ideas to add to certain roles and scenes, i came across an old Netflix i would watch called black mirror. It reminded me very much the current play, being about the weirdest scenarios that could happen to anyone. I brought ideas that i then included in some of my scenes which help so much for my performance to not be bland for the audience but making to make the most of the lines i picked.
This project also let us showcase skills we learnt from our teachers and professionals, such as objectives, physicality and the thinking outside our comfort zones. Bringing different styles such Stanislavksi and Brecht helped us massively to bring the characters to life for the audience while educating them to know that people are facing real life problems everyday.
We use lighting and staging to represent certain scenes and what type of atmosphere they portray. I think we will look at play in a more futuristic theme which could mean that we want the past to be left behind and the future and present is all there is. One major concept is to give everyone a chance to do something they are comfortable with and feel honestly good acting, if its real to yourself, it will be real for the audience. I believe i can really work on becoming the character fully, through hot-sitting, research and putting yourself in there shoes.

For my evaluation of this unit, i will be writing about all my research, group work, working with actors and all new skills i have learnt. In lesson i'll write up ideas we started with and how they have changed and why. i'll be using peer feedback to help me develop on things i don't notice myself as they are also your audience.i will also be very open to constructive criticism from my teachers as i will need to know what parts of my acting don't go with certain scenes as they will help all my performances to be strong in various ways. Another thing i would like to develop on is building energy with my peers who will be in scenes with me as building that relationship and both being open to new things, will make our performance way better.
